Dramigos

Good Drams.
Good People.

Whisky tastings, gatherings and stories with Gregor Cattanach.

There's more to a good dram than what's in the glass.

Dramigos isn't really about whisky bottles. It's about the people, places, stories and experiences that bring whisky to life.

Whisky Education

Learn from someone who lives it

My training is practical, engaging and built around real-world knowledge — not textbooks.

Whether you're a bartender, retailer, distributor or enthusiast, I'll meet you where you are and make sure you leave knowing more than when you arrived.

  • Retailer education
  • Distributor programmes
  • Enthusiast masterclasses

A Round of Stories

Some are about the whisky. Some are about the people.

I grew up around Scottish distilleries and have been talking Scotch ever since. These are stories from both sides of the glass. Some come with a belter name. Others come from being there.

Get Your Own Bloody Shoes

After my first presentation, I told my dad I'd never fill his shoes. "Get your own bloody shoes," he said. "These are mine." Then he winked.

The Mathematician

Mortlach. You need to be a bloody mathematician to figure out that 2.81 distillation.

The General

Bunnahabhain. Bhuna? That's a curry. Lillian's been there 50 years, she should know how to pronounce it. I learned from the best.

A few to get us started. Plenty more when we meet.

Working with brands

I host Scotch days and nights and teach the people who drink it, pour it and sell it. So the bottle sells through.

Get it on the shelf and the back bar.

Introduce your whisky to the people who choose what their shop or bar stocks.

Get people tasting and buying.

Pour the whisky, tell its story, and help people find a bottle to take home or order again.

Learn what brings them back.

Hear what people say at the tasting, go back to the shop and the bar afterwards, and tell you what I find.

A launch, a market visit, or a wee bit of work here and a wee bit there, based on the need. It would be good to hear what you're doing and see if there's something we could do together.

Gregor Cattanach

Master of Whisky · Keeper of the Quaich

Some people discover whisky. I grew up inside it.

My father, Evan Cattanach, was a Master Distiller, and our family lived at distilleries across Scotland. The bottle in the photograph is a Dalwhinnie 36 Year Old, distilled in 1966 — when my father was making whisky there. That's Brodie, my trusty Springer Spaniel, keeping a close eye on it.

I've spent the last 26 years working in Scotch whisky, teaching people about it, sharing stories and meeting some cracking characters along the way.

I'm a Master of Whisky and Keeper of the Quaich, but I reckon whisky is best enjoyed with good people and a bit of banter. That's what Dramigos is all about.

A Keeper of the Quaich

An honour I'm proud of, and one that means a great deal given my family's history in Scotch whisky.
